Setup Tips:
MopedShack.com - Demo, From the day we received our Voyager 150cc Scooter test Demo - setup tips.
We ordered our test demo it arrived 10 days later by lift-gate truck. We inspected the scooter while the driver was still here so we could document any damage if we needed to. No damage so we accepted the order. We immediately ordered our MSO so we could register and title the scooter, knowing it would several days to get, this would give us time to prep and inspect the scooter, check all fluids, tighten any loose bolts, put the windshield on, fill and install the battery.
1. Uncrate you Scooter (Remove the bolts and framework from the metal crate, starting at the top and working your way down.)
2. Get your operating instructions manual and maintenance manual, read both manuals. (Manuals usually found under the seat)
3. Check all fluids, engine oil, rear gear oil, brake fluid, fill and install your battery.
4. Check all bolts and fasteners, wheel bolts, brake caliper bolts, engine bolts, including the carburetor and spark plug.
5. Check all vacuum hoses and gas lines before you fill you gas tank.
6. After checking everything, with the ignition key switch in the off position. Use your foot and gently move the kick-starter to see if everything is free and nothing is binding or needs service. (Make sure the scooter is on the center stand while doing this.)
7. Prime you carburetor if needed as per the instructions in you manual.
8. Before you try to start you scooter, put it on it's center stand. (This lifts the back tire so the scooter wont grab and take off on you when you try to start it.)
9. Start your scooter, hold the brake and push the start button, it might take a couple try's to prime the carburetor.
10. After running you scooter for a few minutes shut it off and check for any fluid leaks and anything loose. (If everything checks out okay then it's time for a test drive, remember safety comes first. Check your scooter often for loose bolts and fluid leaks to prevent potential problems down the road.) Remember an ounce of prevention equals a pound of cure.
